Neutron examination of nano structured materials.

The small angle neutron scattering instrument SANS in the JEEP II is used for examination of nano structures in soft materials and biomaterials. Some examples of such materials is polymer, carbon nano tubes, micro emulsions and magnetic liquids.

The SANS-instrument contains some kind of "neutron camera" that can take photos of structures inside the materials. Size and shape of these molecule structures, which typically exists in the range of 2 nm-80 nm, may be deducted from the neutron photos.
