Stable isotope ratio of carbon and hydrogen on hydrocarbon gases

The Stable Isotope Laboratory at Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) provide services for the process and oil industry with extensive experience with gas from refinery and process industry sources, drill cuttings (mudgas), gas bags and isotubes, gas inclusions in minerals, exhaust/combustion gases and biogas from landfills.

Analysis of stable isotopes of carbon can be supplied for the following components:

  • Carbon Dioxide
  • Methane
  • Ethane
  • Propane
  • iso-Butane (i-Butane)
  • normal-Butane (n-Butane)

Analysis of stable isotopes of hydrogen is supplied for the following components:

  • Hydrogen
  • Methane

The capacity is 30 samples each day. The service can be extended to a full “fingerprint” analysis of the gas including composition analysis.

The Stable Isotope Laboratory at Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) have 30 years of experience on samples related to oil and process industry.  Our team of engineers and scientists provide a powerful mindforce locked on problems related to geology, chemistry and geochemistry.
