- Abstract
- A luminescence based series resistance imaging method [1] was used for the optimization of the firing process for screen printed silicon solar cells. The firing temperature and power settings of the individual infrared lamps in the belt furnace were controlled to establish a homogeneous series resistance over the cell area. In addition, the series resistance images were used to compare the front side contact interface in areas of high and low series resistance with cross-sectional scanning electron microscope images. This study illustrates an optimization procedure for firing of screen printed solar cells, and also the usefulness of spatially resolved information such as that obtained from photoluminescence based series resistance imaging.
