Petro-HAMMLAB: In 1997 and 2000, IFE, Halden has obtained funds from the Norwegian Research Council for the periods 1997-1999 and 2000-2003 to establish an experimental facility, Petro-HAMMLAB, for the offshore petroleum industry in Norway. To guide the work and assure that the results are beneficial to the petroleum industry, an advisory group is established with members from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate and five petroleum companies: BP Amoco, Elf, Norsk Hydro, Phillips and Statoil.
The Nuclear Simulators of HAMMLAB: The experimental control centre HAMMLAB currently operates two nuclear full-scope simulators of PWR and BWR plants. The simulators operate with fully computer-based operator interfaces, including large screens, within the HAMMLAB control centre environment.
