The cause of the interruption at Jeep II is located and repaired.

ife A leakage in a pump in the recombination circuit was the cause of the interruption at the Jeep II reactor on Saturday 9th of September.

The pumps have now been repaired and tested thoroughly. The institute has delivered  a report about the incident as well as the repair work which has been done. The report has been treated in IFE’s Security Committee.

This report has been been sent to the Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority, and they have given the institute permission to start up the reactor.

IFE points out that there are no indications of increased radioactive values (exceeding normal operations,) after the new measurements in relation to the incident.
