- Augmented Reality
- AR is a further development of the virtual reality, VR, technology and is understood as a combination of digital models and the physical world. An AR system generates a composite view with a combination of a virtual model or scene and the physical, real life setting in which the viewer is located. The technology has until recently been expensive, resource demanding and requiring advanced knowledge in the field. Due to these factors the use has been limited mainly to military, medical research and other highly specialised applications.
- Core Data Viewer
- 3D visualisation of reactor core data, such as power density distribution, is a powerful technique for gaining insight into the characteristics of a reactor core's state. The Core Data Viewer is a configurable software application developed to enable 3D visualisation of user-supplied data to be provided on engineers’ computers and in classrooms, with appropriate functionality to support meaningful exploration of the data.
- Corrosion Control Services
- DESIRE RadVis
- DESIRE RadVis is a tool that displays predictions, created using the Geant4-based DESIRE system, for rapid assessment and visualisation of radiation flux and dose levels for space environments. It is intended primarily for use by space engineers, doctors and scientists, but it can also be used to display measured data and to enhance the radiation awareness of astronauts and ground personnel.
- Electron Beam Welding
- Fusion welding process in which a beam of high-velocity electrons is applied to the materials being joined
- HVRC CREATE
- HVRC CREATE is a suite of tools for designing and testing room layouts with version management for tracking design iterations. HVRC CREATE uses interactive 3D technology to enable designers to rapidly prototype and test designs against ergonomic guidelines and recommendations, and further supports an iterative design process with multiple participants, including end-users. Although it is designed for control room engineering, it can also be used for other applications where the layout of an environment is important.
- HVRC LOD Tool
- The tool supports creation of ISO VRML97 geometry files. It further provides polygon reduction functionality for simplification of geometry, level-of-detail editing and generation functionality. It can be run interactively or in batch mode.
- IFE Hydrocarbon Core Scanner
- The IFE HCS™ scanner provides means of rapid, non-destructive qualitative and quantitative logging of petroleum shows in conventionally slabbed drill cores.
- IFE-Halden Instruments
- IFE offers precision measuring instruments and experimental equipment for use in reactors and in industry. Continuous measurements of temperature, pressure, flow and deformation under highly demanding conditions and for long periods of time, such as 10 years or more, place high demands on reliability and material selection.
- Manufacture and characterization of solar cells and solar cell materials
- Mechanical workshop
- The mechanical workshop has long experience and tradition in machining a wide variety of materials and with strict requirements to tolerances and quality.
- ProcSee
- ProcSee® is a versatile software tool to develop and display dynamic graphical user interfaces. It is a mature, high-quality software product, designed and optimized for large-scale simulators and process monitoring & control applications.
- Radon in indoor air
- The concentration of radon in indoor air varies through the year and through the day. To find the mean value for the concentration in one year, long-term measurements, 2-3 months, are necessary. The concentration of radon is most stable and at its maximum during the winter, and the measurements should therefore be performed in the period from medio October to medio April. Institute for Energy Technology offers measurements of radon with alpha track detectors. This method is appreciated as the number one method for measurements of radon in indoor air.
- Reservoir and Production Monitoring Services
- Services - Industrial Psychology
- Services offered by Department for Industrial Psychology
- Services related to LSA scale. Results within 24 hours
- IFE has through the years gained competence in fields related to measurements of LSA scale, both field measurements and laboratory measurements. The institute has, in co-operation with the Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority (NRPA), carried out projects on the instructions of OLF (Norwegian Oil Industry Association) concerning measurement and classification of LSA scale. IFE was highly complimented for work performed in connection with classification of sludge from the Brent Spar and LSA scale from Maureen.
- Software Bus
- The Software Bus (SWBus) is an object-oriented, TCP/IP based, data communication system particularly aimed at simulator systems and process surveillance and control systems. It handles complex, user-defined data types and is optimised for transferring a large number of variables from a central data source to a large number of clients.
- Stable isotope ratio of carbon and hydrogen on hydrocarbon gases
- The Stable Isotope Laboratory at Institute For Energytechnology (IFE) provide services for the process and oil industry with extensive experience with gas from refinery and process industry sources, drill cuttings (mudgas), gas bags and isotubes, gas inclusions in minerals, exhaust/combustion gases and biogas from landfills.
- Testing of components in electrical and thermal systems
- The Bi-directional Power Unit (BPU) in the Power system laboratory at IFE can be used to test batteries, electrolysers, fuel cells, regenerative fuel cells, supercondensators and converters
- The basin simulator BAS
- Bas is a simulator for the geohistory of a sedimentary basin
