SWBus version 3.1 is officially released. Substantial improvements to the SWBus Application Framework is the main new feature in version 3.1. See ReleaseNotes for R3.1 for details.

SWBus version 3.0 is officially released. Major new features include a parser for reading class and object definitions from configuration files at run-time, implementation of a SWBus Application Framework, and significant optimisations both regarding performance and memory consumption. See ReleaseNotes for R3.0 for details. SWBus is now also available on the Linux platform for Intel-based PCs.

Winter, 1998/99
SWBus is used extensively in the development of the HAMMLAB 2000 Integration Platform. A framework for developing SWBus applications is designed and implemented. New features are added and performance is significantly improved. The SWBus is ported to Linux.

Summer, 1998
Implementation of a parser for SWBus configuration files has started. This way SWBus classes and variables can be created based on user-defined configuration files. File syntax and semantics will be very similar to the Picasso .pdat files.

June, 1998
SWBus Release 2.1 released. The release included only one new function and some minor corrections. See ReleaseNotes for R2.1 for details.

June, 1997
SWBus Release 2.0 released. New features included automatic and transparent cross-platform marshalling, support for non-blocking communication, run-time version control among connected applications, unlimited message lengths, and several other additions and corrections. See ReleaseNotes for R2.0 for details. R2.0 was the first SWBus version available for Windows NT.

June, 1996
SWBus Release 1.0 released. The release included binaries, User's Guide, Reference Manual and example code.

SWBus presented at the 1996 Enlarged Halden Programme Group Meeting at Loen, Norway.
