RadVis 1.1 Release Notes

RadVis 1.1 Release Notes
========================

This is a maintenance release. Most of the bugs fixed in this release are
user interface behaviour issues.

New Features
------------

The following features are new in release 1.1:

* X3D file format (VRML 2004 - ISO/IEC FDIS 19775:2004) is now supported
  for 3D geometry, in addition to ISO VRML97. See <http://www.web3d.org/>
  for details about X3D.
* 3D geometry files can be dragged and dropped onto the 3D view as a
  shortcut for the File > Replace Model... menu item.

Change Summary
--------------

The following modifications have been made since 1.0 (Provisional Acceptance):

id# Description
~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~
4   When toggling between a box representation and a geometrical
    representation of a 3D model (View > Box), the box representation remains
    lit if the background has been toggled off.
5   The result of switching viewpoints in the examine/rotate navigation mode
    is now the same as in the fly mode.
6   Detaching the virtual dosimeter from body in examine mode, damaged the
    navigation.
7   The cone/box representation in the Information HUD no longer disappears
    occasionally if the dosimeter is detached.
8   When detaching the virtual dosimeter, the dosimeter representation appears
    closer to the user, making it easier to interact with in confined
    environments.
9   The Previous/Next buttons in Project Chooser are disabled when no
    previous/next projects are available.
10  When switching from viewing interpolated to un-interpolated data, the
    values of cells where no data are available are now set correctly to
    Òn/aÓ rather than to 0.
11  The Information HUD always shows a Box if no directional data is found.
12  The layout of the Information HUD is maintained correctly when the
    application window is resized.
13  Loading ISO X3D geometry files is now supported, in addition to ISO
    VRML 97.
14  The Information HUD correctly reflects the values for the virtual
    dosimeter both when attached and detached to the view.
15  The default transparency setting for the Slice visualisation mode is
    more solid.
16  Loading new projects is faster and uses less memory.
17  When viewing a Ògeneral datasetÓ, the unit for values shown in the
    Information HUD is shown in the Information HUD.
18  Viewpoint transitions behave correctly after interaction with a detached
    dosimeter that has not been re-attached.
19  Interaction with the virtual dosimeter has been adjusted so that it can
    only be dragged along one plane at a time. The dosimeter moves along the
    plane that the cube side clicked on faces.
20  The Sun is now visible in the background environment model.
21  The Interpolated and Un-interpolated menu items in the View menu are
    highlighted to indicate which mode is currently active.
22  3D model geometry can be replaced by dragging and dropping a model
    geometry file onto the 3D view after a project has been loaded.
