The HVRC LOD Tool offers the folloing features:

  • Can load and view VRML97 models
  • Provides twin 3D views that enable the user to compare the original model and a LODed representation side by side
  • Supports simplification / polygon reduction functionality
  • Can auto-generate LOD data based on object's volume
  • Can edit LOD configurations created using the HVRC LOD Tool
    • Insert empty level
    • Insert boundary box level
    • Edit distance associated with a Level of Detail
    • Insert new details levels
    • Replace detail levels
    • Delete detail levels
  • Can save LOD configuration files for reuse
  • Exports a VRML files containing a LODed model as described in the LOD configuration created
  • Can be executed in batch mode using configuration files created in interactive mode to generated LODed VRML files
  • Can be executed in batch mode using automatic generation to generate LODed VRML LOD
