One important target is to develop new environmentally friendly gas and water tracers. Another target is to develop tracer analysis techniques applicable in the oil fields. Practical methods must be found to maintain the reliability and solidity demands in a best possible way without influencing the detection limits to any considerable extent.

The program also deals with issues like using tracers to measure remaining oil saturation and the use of tracers in dual porosity where imbibition (like in the Ekofisk field) is an important mechanism for oil recovery.

Program participants are Statoil, Norsk Hydro, Total, Wintershall and ConocoPhillips.

The program has its own project web site on the internet, where information of use to the participants is presented and stored, like reports, minutes, presentations, etc.
