KMB-project 152821/130 Advanced Reservoir Tracing (ART) for improved oil recovery

Objectives

  • tracer_injection_small.jpgImprove reservoir description through direct and quantitative monitoring of flow fields (directions, volumes) with advanced tracer methods
  • Develop tracer-based methods to measure remaining oil saturation in flooded areas and indicate position and volume of unflooded oil banks (based on, and including, oil-partitioning tracers) as targets for infill drilling or tertiary recovery methods
  • Meet the requirements from Norwegian (and foreign) Pollution Authorities by offering tracers, which satisfy environmental demands with respect to the Kyoto agreement (climate gases) and bioaccumulation.
  • Continue the strong competence-building R&D activities in tracer technology and increase the industry acceptance and contacts
