Novel Light-weight metal hydrides for hydrogen storage applications (Norwegian Research Council (NRC) project number 185309/S30)
The partners in the project are IFE, University of Oslo and Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe (FZK, Germany).
Goals in the project:
- Search for novel ternary or quarternary aluminium-based metal hydrides with good hydrogen storage capacities and which is stabilized relative to AlH3.
- Synthezise and characterize boron-based complex hydrides and nanocomposites with reduced kinetic barriers including studies of effects of catalysts in these compounds.
- Educate 1 PhD and train 2 post-doctoral fellows (The PhD and 1 postdoc will be at IFE)
NRC's contribution to IFE in this project is 5,8 mill. NOK
