NANOMAT H-lagring

Novel nanomaterials and nanostructured materials for hydrogen storage applications (Norwegian Research Council project number 182040/S10 (a NANOMAT project)

The principal objective for the project is
- Develop and understand novel nanomaterials, nanostructured naterials and complex hydrides with high gravimetric storage capacity and appopriate thermodynamics for vehicular hydrogen storage. Relevant materials are nanoscopic Mg and Al on inert support materials, Al, N and B-based complex hydrides and MOFs.

Sub-goals:
- Provide a fundamental understanding of absorption and desorption processes and effect of catalysts in complex and nanophase materials.
- Educate 1 PhD and train 2 post-doctotal fellows.
- Strengthen collaboration between Norwegian research groups.

The project is a collaboration between IFE, SINTEF and the University of Oslo.

Total budget is 7,3 mill. NOK. The project ends in 2011.
