Areas of Work - Skills

The staff in the division work in the following areas:

Data Evaluation, Fuel and Materials

  • support the design & planning of new tests
  • design calculations/evaluations
  • preparation of experimental procedure reports and data conversion routines
  • assist Experimental Engineering Division in preparing and executing experiments
  • collect, qualify, evaluate and report experimental data
  • provide feedback information on performance/status of rig/instruments to design office and instrument group
  • prepare contributions to status reports, annual technical reports, annual programme proposals, planning documents etc.
  • write test status notes, and HWR &HPR reports
  • control and quality assurance of data evaluation/reports
  • fuel & material performance modelling (empirical correlations, physical descriptions)
  • present papers and represent the Project in international meetings/conferences/committees

Reactor Physics/Data Management/Grafic Design

  • reactor physics calculations (REBUS/HETERO, HELIOS)
  • 2D/3D flux/fluence calculations (HELIOS)
  • improve/develop further reactor physics programs in use
  • provide support to Data Evaluation Group
  • maintain and develop data management and data acquisition systems
  • transmit data to member organisations and bilateral customers
  • control/assure quality of data (conversion)
  • update lists of:
    - Fabrication and PIE reports
    - HWR and HPR reports
  • produce illustrations for information material and brochures for the Project
